Seataphor

The recipe is a metaphor of how we corrupt the ocean with plastic and oil spill,

Kochi Snapper • Edible Plastic • Coconut • Spirulina Blue Algae • Charcoal Oil slick.

Some common ingredients used in this recipe,as well as seasonal fishing which in this case is the Snapper from Kochi, Arabian sea.

Coconut : According to KT Achaya a great Indian author, reveals if it wasnt for the sea one wouldn’t have got the hang of coconuts, he says it was the tides and water which transported them to various shores of the earth land masses.

Spirulina - the reason or the algae which keeps our sea blue

The seeds of inspiration for this is from chefs all around the world but most importantly the great Ferran Adria’s elbulli catalogue and on to Chef Rasmus of Alchemist in Copenhagen.

The metaphor which we at Farmlore are referring to is " Save the ocean".

One doesn’t need to be a scientist to understand the urgent nature of the challenges facing the ocean, our most precious natural resource that provides more than 50% of our oxygen and supports up to 80% of life on the planet.

Plastic & Oil spillage are some the most common ways we destruct the ocean and its habitants, invariably being a source of main pollutant to erode the natural environment.

One has also discovered that when ocean ecosystems are given time and space to recover from detrimental human activities, they can rebound at an astonishing rate, So its never too late.
